The winter can at times feel like it moves at a snail’s pace, with spring seeming to never get closer. This year, weather permitting, we will be offering an opportunity to enjoy some outdoor activities at the Club.

A cross country ski and snowshoe trail has been marked on the top shelf of the property. The trail begins by the 1st tee and is marked with signs outlining a few notes for use. The trail is marked through the course with snow plow stakes that are a reflective orange colour for visibility. When using the trail please be respectful of other users and follow physical distancing protocols at all times. Individuals cross country skiing are asked to stay to the left of the stakes and snowshoers to the right. This will give any ski trails made my previous users a better chance of remaining for future users and make passing others far smoother.

Out of an abundance of caution, the snow shoe and skiing course will not be in the valley, as freezing and thawing on the valley road can lead to slippery conditions. Also, depending on conditions, river flooding can pose a significant danger. If you do decide to head into the valley please keep this in mind.

The trail navigates through the top 5 holes, then has the option of trekking along the back of the parking lot and completing an additional portion on the driving range. The route has been determined with turf health and conditions in mind. Walking or skiing on snow typically leads to packed snow and ice conditions. This can increase the risk of turf injury to all areas, especially the greens, tees and fairways. We ask that you please remain on the marked trail at all times.

There will be a communication sent out when there is sufficient snow for the activities to begin. There will also be further communication if a pause is required, and at the end of the season.

Hopefully, mother nature cooperates shortly and allows us to have a lengthy outdoor activity winter season providing more year-round opportunities at the Club.

If you have any questions about this or anything else please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.

Hi Chris, thanks for a wonderful job! I walked with the ladies today and saw all the signs and designated routes. I’ve walked the course for many years with my dog in the winter but snow makes it hard, so skiing and snowshoeing is great!!
