Human Resources Manager, The Credit Valley Golf and Country Club
The Credit Valley Golf and Country Club, an exclusive Private Club located in the heart of Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking the services of a Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be dedicated to providing outstanding service to the Club’s engaged staff and membership.
- Initiate, lead and execute all human resources programs including, but not limited to, employee communications; recruitment; onboarding; health and safety; benefits and disability management (including proactive accommodation and modified work); performance management; employee compensation, rewards, recognition and engagement.
- Process biweekly payroll for all staff, annual bonus payments and others as applicable.
- Work closely with the controller to ensure employee payroll records are accurately maintained.
- Review, recommend and execute creative networking, recruitment, selection and hiring practices to ensure a talented, diverse employee team.
- Support the Club’s Health and Safety Manager to build upon the Club’s existing health and safety program to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, reduce accident rates, mitigate risks, educate employees and minimize WSIB premiums.
- Provide guidance and direction on all aspects of employee/employer relations, including advising Management on the interpretation & implementation of applicable legislation, Club policies and supporting managers in determining appropriate resolution to issues.
- Diagnose organizational issues/needs; make recommendations to support culture.
- Through active participation in the hospitality human resources sector, identify human resources trends, issues and challenges and make appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior management to manage employee performance and/or address instances of impropriety or misconduct.
- Collaborate with Management and legal counsel to develop termination strategies, conduct terminations when required and develop plans to mitigate legal risks while ensuring that employee dignity and an environment of mutual respect are always preserved.
- Develop, modify, implement and monitor Club human resources policies and procedures in keeping with the Club’s mission, values and strategic direction, with the aim of promoting a collegial and high-performance workplace culture.
- Working in collaboration with the COO, the Human Resource Committee and the Board of Directors, ensure that all human resources policies remain up-to-date, compliant with all applicable legislation and consistent with all Club governance policies.
- Help to develop and facilitate appropriate change management plans to support the implementation and sustainability of Club-wide programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a professional development program in Human Resources.
- Human Resources experience in a management role.
- Knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.

Senior Assistant Superintendent
Who We Are:
The Credit Valley Golf and Country Club is a private 18-hole golf facility located in Mississauga, Ontario. Credit Valley Golf and Country Club has recently completed a practice facility renovation and built a state-of-the-art maintenance facility. The Club has begun an irrigation system replacement installation, scheduled for completion in June 2024, in which the successful candidate will play a vital role.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Course and Property Manager to maintain the property to the highest possible standard. They will motivate staff through strong leadership qualities, resulting in an exemplary golfing experience for Credit Valley’s members and guests.

As a management team, we are excited to continue to develop our strong team for the seasons to come- and the successful candidate will play a large role in continuing this culture.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with the course and property manager on decision-making
- Staff hiring, supervision and leadership
- Daily scheduling and management of staff
- Moisture monitoring, management and scheduling
- Ensuring all staff are properly trained and follow proper Health and Safety protocols as outlined by the club
- Practice IPM principles through all aspects of course maintenance
- Oversee the accurate records of all fertility applications, pest control products applied, and cultural practices performed
Compensation:
- Full-time, year-round, salaried position ($80,000-$90,000/year)

Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in turfgrass management or related field
- Minimum five years of golf course experience
- Organized, effective communicator and motivated
- Irrigation system knowledge, preferably Toro
- Ontario Landscape Exterminators Licence
- IPM certification is an asset
- Desire to become a golf course superintendent
- Valid driver’s licence is required
